Updated rules and guidelines for officials
|
D & J Sports Opens Store in Coopersburg
"The Dedicated Swimmers Outfitter"
|
| We've gone over the rules
and come up with some guidelines for all officials to follow. As you
are all aware we follow PIAA rules with a few exceptions. Every
official, PIAA, NCAA, YMCA and league certified official should all be
following the same rules . Please print them out and share them with
all your officials. Click on 2002 Rules at left |

and Stroke and Turn Officials |
How do I
................? |
|
All teams have agreed to
have at least 4 parents certified as officials for this season. League certification must be renewed every
two years.
According to the rules
passed at the Spring meeting it is REQUIRED that all officials at
league meets be TRAINED. EVERY official MUST have PIAA, NCAA, USS or AT
LEAST Suburban League certification.
The rule about certified stroke and turn officials is
going to be enforced. . If you do not have enough certified
officials, the opposing team may supply as many as needed if available,
even if all the officials are from the same team.. Officials List
A complete-updated list of officials that may work at our
meets is posted on the officials page. If a name is NOT on the list
they are not league certified.
Each participant at the 2002 classes received a certification card upon
completion of the class. This card or a copy of it must be kept with
the required copy of the constitution at all meets. Please check the
list!

| Questions about Water Depth |
Picture

|
The
Suburban League rules follow the PIAA rules with the exceptions noted
in our constitution. There have been questions about the depth of the
water, the distance from the blocks to the water surface and the height
of the starting blocks. Our first concern is the safety of the
children. Any swimmer may start from the deck or in the water using the
proper in-water start. If you have questions READ
THIS
All
100 meter relays at Hanover MUST start in the water at the shallow end
of the pool (3 feet deep)

Do
you have some really exceptional photos taken during meets or at
practice? If you'd like to share them with the rest of the league send
them in the following format:
72 pixels per inch
maximum 288 pixels wide (4 inches)
save as a .jpeg (jpg)
Give the swimmer's name, team and date (I will assume if you send it to
me you have parent permission if you are not the swimmers parent)
Attach
the jpg file to your e-mail and send to
submit
